Through repeated visits in the site and surroundings, a complex relationship between the urban and nature was found.

Mapping these relationships revealed connections of sound, sight and motion. The dual relation of concealment \ exposure is invoked by the contrast of the avenue and the valley.

A detailed design process was given in designing the interfaces between the users of the building and the public around it. In order to allow the public to enjoy the sound and use of the building, exterior courtyards were placed next to the street level functions. Alongside them a passage leads from the street level to the level of the valley. On that transition point are the cafe and the music library.
